Blackduck Ambulance Service is a part-time advanced life support service based in Blackduck Minnesota, located in the forests and lakes area of northern Minnesota, approximately 100 miles south of the Canadian border. Blackduck Ambulance has a primary service area of approximately 1300 square miles and serves a population of 18,000.

Blackduck Ambulance Service originated in 1972 as a volunteer service owned and operated by the City of Blackduck. In 1995 it came under the direction of the Blackduck Ambulance Association Incorporated (BAAI) and transitioned to part-time advanced life support status in 2001. BAAI is a nonprofit organization made up of a Board of Directors from across the Blackduck Ambulance service area. The association directs the on-going development of the service, including appropriation of funds provided through an EMS taxing district established in 2000. Blackduck Ambulance Association Inc. (BAAI) will strive to maintain and increase its role as a leader in the Emergency Medical Services Industry. BAAI will meet and exceed the changing needs and expectations of the communities we serve. BAAI will develop collaborative relationships with the general public, municipal leaders, healthcare facilities, ambulance services, and other community organizations.
